EDITING THE FRONT COVER: USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
First of all, I inserted the base image of the castle which I had taken with my camera
Then I added some red blocks which the text will go on later
Here I've made the red darker in certain parts which will distinguish the different lines of text later.
i did this by layering black over the top of the red blacks and lowering the opacity to 10%
Now I've added the secondary pictures for the cover which i also took.
Next I have added some outlines to the pictures so they pop a bit more and don't look as out of place
I've done this by taking images of a plain white background off google and placing them behind the image
EXPERIMENTATION:
while making this front cover, I changed and tweaked it to make it better. here are some previous additions i decided to remove or change
this is similar to what it originally looked like, I am happy with the changes I made as having yellow in a Canon ad doesn't really make sense as its not a colour associated with the brand.
another thing I'm glad I changed is the addition of extra pictures in the bottom right as I the extra pictures give it a more finished look
EDITING THE PRINT ADVERT: USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP
Unlike the magazine cover, the print advert didn't require as much editing.
Secondly, I added in a white border around the image to cover up the bit of the image where you can see I've rotated it and also to provide a bit of dead-space in the image so it doesn't look to crowded.
I accomplished this by cutting out an image of just my dad and the monument while leaving out the sky.
Then I layered it over the top of the original image and added in a picture of a sunset I found on google, I then changed the opacity of the sunset image.
Finally, I added in the canon logo and some text and the print advert was finished.
EPERIMENTATION:
EPERIMENTATION:
This is another print ad I made, using the same method of cutting the base image out and layering it on top. I also like how this one turned out, but I thought the other one looked more like what I was going for with my final piece so I chose that one to use as my final product.
