MAGAZINE FRONT COVER: my intentions for the magazine cover was to create a traditional looking front cover based of the pre-existing canon magazine called 'PhotoPlus' I have accomplished this by taking inspiration from the magazine whilst also putting my own individual touches on it. what I liked about the PhotoPlus' original design was the layout of it, meaning it having one large photo be the main focus of the cover and having a few smaller pictures off away from the main focus (usually at the bottom). another thing I emulated was the advertisement circle in the top right hand side of the magazine cover offering a high value product for free in the magazine, I used this in my design as I believe doing so would draw in buyers as they would feel like they're getting a bargain deal. The two things I changed about my design were the main colour of the cover, usually in a 'PhotoPlus' magazine the dominant colour is white, but in mine I have used two shades of red,...

EDITING THE FRONT COVER: USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP First of all, I inserted the base image of the castle which I had taken with my camera Then I added some red blocks which the text will go on later Here I've made the red darker in certain parts which will distinguish the different lines of text later. i did this by layering black over the top of the red blacks and lowering the opacity to 10%  Now I've added the secondary pictures for the cover which i also took. Next I have added some outlines to the pictures so they pop a bit more and don't look as out of place I've done this by taking images of a plain white background off google and placing them behind the image Here I've implemented a trick in which I copied the image of the camera 3 times and layered them over each other, then lowered the opacity to make it look like the camera is is moving into frame or fading in, just to ad a bit of uniqueness to my cover penultimately, I've added the text to the cover  Fin...

TAKING THE PHOTO (MAGAZINE FRONT COVER):  To take the picture of the castle for the magazine cover, I first had to choose a location which I decided to be Hylton Castle and the cathedral in Hylton Castle estate, Sunderland. I took my camera and a tripod to a location behind the castle and took several pictures by myself, so I have no behind the scenes footage, these are the two I chose to use below. for this I decided to use a wide angle to get the whole cathedral in frame as I was shooting from the side For this one I’ve used a low angle and a wide angle to have the whole castle in frame and to make it appear huge EXPERIMENTATION AND EXTRA PHOTOS: First I tried it from the front but decided it was too far away but the gate was closed so I couldn’t get closer I don't like this one because its too close this one is similar to the one I used in the final piece but its too bright  TAKING THE PHOTO (PRINT ADVERT): To take the picture for the print advert, me and me and my dad went...
